STATEMENT
制作工程で紙や布を使用することで、ごく薄い皮膜のような磁器の作品を制作している。
支持体としての紙や布は焼失しているにも関わらず、質感として作品の上に残る。
それは焼成を経て、失われることで立ち上がる紙や布の存在した痕跡、記憶のかたちである。
土という素材から重量を可能な限り削ぎ落とすことで浮かび上がるミニマムな物質感に興味を持ち、
物体でありながら空間や時間を前景化させるものを求めて、制作に取り組んでいる。
By using paper and cloth in the work process,
I create porcelain works that resemble a very thin film.
Although the paper or cloth as a support has been burned away,
it remains on the work as a texture.
It is a form of memory, a trace of the existence of the paper or cloth that rises up after being lost through the firing process.
I am interested in the minimalist sense of materiality that emerges from clay a material that has been stripped of
it's weight as much as possible,and works in search of objects that foreground space and time while remaining physical objects.
